Working with the Change4Good Foundation made me realize that even as a high school student limited during the pandemic, I can help make a difference in people’s lives. When my family had difficulties getting a vaccination appointment, I helped them secure one by staying up past midnight each night and scouring the Facebook posts for updates. I quickly learned how the process works and that the process in New Jersey was not streamlined. As a result, people were experiencing endless challenges trying to get appointments. I wanted to help, so I secured the URL www.njvaccinationhelp.com and created a simple site to provide guidance to people looking for help while navigating the vaccination process. For a few months, while appointments were scarce, my sister and I stayed up late and helped the elderly make their appointments. Once appointments became more readily available, we started volunteering at a vaccination site. Twice a week, we would drive to Newark to help register people. We worked alongside the Newark Fire Department to get people processed. It was another small way we could make a difference.
